Cooper has not seen Danton since he took a bullet for him in 'Nam. Cooper and Danton realize who each other are while trying to kill each other. One of this elite combat unit is Jack Cooper. The troops report this to Colonel Hogan, who sends a task force with his best man, Lieutenant Thornton. The mercenaries hunt Danton, but are meticulously picked off one by one.
Taken to the forest, he is stripped to his shorts, greased up and told to run.
Danton, a Vietnam veteran, is ambushed while taking out the trash. Unfortunately this time, they picked the wrong guy, Mike Danton. For training, he orders his troops to kidnap innocent people, take them to the forest and hunt them. A deal is struck, and Hogan recruits new troops. The video had almost a VHS quality to it and the audio is limited. Overall, Deadly Prey is one of the best bad movies ever made and if it were only that, I’d give it a better rating but most everything on this release was terrible.

On the plus side, what there is, I didn’t notice many instances of crackling so that’s a positive, but that’s about the only good I can say about it… The DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track doesn’t fair a whole lot better with flat dialogue, no depth whatsoever and when the action does pick up, it sounds muffled from the movie’s cheap sound design. There are also vertical lines in many shots making for an all around ugly looking picture.

Needless to say, this 1080p transfer is terrible with little to no detail, colors are somewhat washed out and there are dust marks, dirt and other ailments seen throughout. Now, the back cover does state that this was culled from the “best available elements” and “not sourced from an HD Master remastered from PAL Beta SP” and then “upconverted” to Blu-ray. Wow, I can say this is one of the worst if not THE worst video transfers I’ve come across.

Nothing great but at least there are some features. Hogan, Michaelson and the mercenaries are in for a world of pain. Danton, a Marine with killer skills, doesn’t take too kindly to being kidnapped. What Hogan didn’t count on was that one of those people would be Mike Danton (TED PRIOR). His solution: troll the streets of Los Angeles and randomly abduct people. What he doesn’t have is the prey to hunt in preparation for the big day.
Michaelson will finance Hogan’s training camp and Hogan will use his trained mercenaries to help out Michaelson.
